December 7, 2007

Gadgets are getting smaller and smaller every day.. Ako na lang ata di lumalaki eh.. Oops.. Teka nga pala, di nga pala ako gadget. :D

Anyways, every tech blog/site I go to is currently featuring the Asus Eee PC, the low-cost compact notebook from Asus. It's being sold for as little as Php17,000. If I were to choose, VIA Nanobook pipiliin ko, Better HD, RAM and CPU Speed. :)

Uu nga no? mobile internet..

Posted by Bren at December 13, 2007, 11:39 pm

I own an Asus EEE unit and I am loving it. Kahit na 4 Gb lang ang size ng HD it’s enough for my needs. Hindi eto ang main computer ko but something to use whenever I’m on trips. maganda etong unit for presentations or just simply doing lite office work and browsing while on the go. the SD slot helps, it is where I store my files. there are also 3 USB slots for thumbdrives. Oo nga pala, I’ve converted mine to winxp (tweaked it actually).

oh, and you forgot to mention that the VIA Nanobook has a touchscreen feature. hmm.. comparing the two, siguro masmahal ang via nanobook as compared to the Asus EEE (which I got for 17k)

gumagana ba ang smart bro sa linux…ako kasi im using smart 3g kaso ang mga phone suites eh windows kaya nagsi second thought ako to buy a linux pc

Posted by levi at March 3, 2008, 11:23 am

@levi
Yes, it does. out of the box (with linux) it can detect your 3G cellphone. it detects it as a 3G modem. there are sites on the internet saying the 3G LG unit of Smart works seamlessly.

Posted by Leviticus at March 8, 2008, 8:24 pm

@Leviticus,
tried googling in on the net. unfortunately, no links match. may be incompatibility since it is a different OS.

@levi,
i’ll try to ask my brother to test his LG on a redhat platform and see if it’ll work.

the good thing about using LINUX OS
you don’t need to install Nokia PC Suite
as soon as you plug your USB cable connected to the Phone the OS will immediately recognize the 3G connection and you can browse immediately

Posted by Leviticus at March 12, 2008, 12:18 pm

@Leviticus: how about sony ericsson nga 3g phones? ok lang ba, auto detect din ba ang asus?

Ive tried the asus eeepc…Its really handy and portable…perfect for students who just needs to surf and chat…and type MSWord,MSPowerPoint and Excel…pero im scared that It might hang kasi 900mhz lang yung processor nya…pretty slow for our times…but since your just going to do light work thenits ok…

Hello. I got the plan 2500 asus eee laptop 2G + LG ku380 phone kit. Kaya lang, I cannot seem to use it for browse pa. Naguguluhan ako. Customer service is no help either. Lagi nila suggest, i need external drive. Ang alam ko pwede ang flash drive. I’ve tried but the OS doesnt seem to read the file na nacopy from the disc drive to my flash drive sa desktop pc ko. I would really appreciate an advise and help. Im tryin to figure out what to do here pa. Sayang kc kung hindi ko magamit. Tnx!

@Leng,
sorry for the delayed response. unfortunately, my webbie’s blocked at work by IT so i’m not able to post some new info here.

in any case, you’d need to make sure that the software is compatible with the OS of your Asus EEE PC. also, if the application for ur LG is too big, u may need to install the program on the flash drive itself. don’t just copy it, OK?

hope this helps!

@bren
- yun nga lang Linux ang OS nya.
(eh di lagyan mo ng windows..)

@beingmytechiesel
- yep yep yep.. andami nung mga versions. mas marami pa ata un kesa sa Windows eh..
(hindi versions yun.. distributions un, bawat distribution eh may sariling versioning.. 1 distribution is = to windows.. hindi 1 linux version is = to windows ok?)

try nyo mag-research muna bago mag-post ng trivias nyo ok..

Posted by Papapau at September 17, 2008, 9:57 am

@Leviticus

@all

@Papapau
