hair vs. gadgets

January 4, 2008

Cripes, you wouldn't believe the weird things I am seeing when I try to do a google search with keywords, "hair gadgets 2008"! I get Men Prefer Hair Than Gadgets. Britney Spears’ hair for sale on eBay. Oh yeah, here’s a good one. Lighted Nose Hair Trimmer. I mean what the hell?!!! Geez! Some people ARE really weird.

This question goes out to all the Filipino guys out there. If you were bald i.e. slightly moderate to serious baldness like your Dad or your Lolo, and you have all the latest gadgets, would you trade these gadgets for hair on your scalp? Hmm.. Well? Would you? :D

And I really wouldn’t want to know what to do with Britney Spears’ hair anyways. :D Speaking of which, if you’re missing a couple of buzz on the top, you can check out this Manhattan hair transplant that’s guaranteed to well, give you your hair back! Damn! I think I sound like an infomercial. Crap!

Enough already!!!

Using your 3G phone as a USB modem

I actually got this idea from a colleague at work, OJ, who owns a Nokia 3G phone — the model escapes me. In any case, I just realized that you can use your 3G mobile phone as a USB modem to connect to the internet. Yey! You can blog anywhere you want with your laptop especially if you're not picking up any wifi networks. :)

Must-haves before connecting:

  1. USB cable

  2. Installation software CD - very important!!! This contains drivers for the mobile phone as well as some other transfer wizards.

  3. Active subscription with a service provider i.e. SMART, Globe or Sun Cellular. (Preferrably SMART (lowest rates on internet browsing, Php10/30mins.) Your phone must be set up already for GPRS and/or 3G.

Steps:

  1. Install the software CD first. Follow instructions on LCD screen. For Nokia phones, you need to install Nokia PC Suite. For Motorola phones, you'd need to install Motorola Mobile Phone Tools.

  2. Connect your mobile phone to the computer via USB. Make sure that you are in a 3G area and that you have enough credits for internet access.

  3. Once the computer and the software detects your mobile, click on Connect to the Internet on your mobile software. It should get you connected. :)

See? Easy as one-two-three! :D

what’s up with this guy?

January 3, 2008

Who the hell is Neil Crespi?! Apparently, he’s some guy who’s made a lot of moolah from blogging. I mean, I would not begrudge him his due but why in blazes am I blogging about him?! Maybe because like Neil Crespi, we all need the money and we are continually finding ways to earn it.

There are a lot of people out there who pay people to create buzz about them. I am one of them. I say it because I believe that I am more than capable of writing my thoughts, transferring them to words on paper or whatever media is available. I guess, you might say that it’s one of the things that I’m good at. :D

Hey, believe me! It isn’t as easy as it looks. Now, I have to think of getting a gadget to go with it. Crap! I can’t even think of one. <ding> I believe I just had a light bulb moment! Of course, I could rant again on how I got my 2nd-hand Motorola v3x phone as a USB modem.  Teehee!!!

But not with this post dude! :D

stumbled-upon

WARNING: The following posts may not be suitable to your techie tastes. Reader discretion is advised?!

While I was googling everything that I could find regarding about dental gadgets, I found this really, really interesting post on one of the websites. And I'd just like to share this tiny little tidbit with you before some of you guys go to your ortho and have your teeth fixed. I hope to God that no Cincinnati cosmetic dentist practices this.

"Recycling"  - A disgusting procedure where an orthodontist takes bands, brackets, wires, etc. out of one patient's mouth and "recycles" them to another patient's mouth. This should not be confused with the kind of recycling you do in your house; materials recycled in your home are used as a source of raw materials and not simply reused.

I know! I know! Ewwness right?! I, for one, am glad that I have straight teeth. Still gives me the shivers. I think I'll be having nightmares for weeks!!! Once again, EWWW!!!! Need I say more?
